The aviator chair is a seat for the design and vintage lounge, which appeared in the 1950s, the pilot-style armchairs were made with airplane parts.
The aviator models were in the 1950s made with parts of the cabins of put put off planes. After the Second World War, the industry and the designers lacked materials, designers had the idea to use aircraft parts of the Spitfire, and the Lockheed P-38 which is the version of the plane of Saint Exupéry.
In the United States in the 1950s, propeller warrs were technologically outdated, replaced by models with jet engines. A large number of aircraft built during the Second World War are scrapped, the parts of the cabins are then recycled to make lounge seats but also furniture, such as the office with an airplane wing.
The riveted aluminum plates are used for the sides of the seats, the pilots' seat is placed between the plates that form the armrests. Thus an old decommissioned aircraft finds a daily and popular use.
In wanting to recycle aviation parts, furniture designers invented a new style, if this type of seat is new, it recalls the art deco style of the 1900s.
With the version of a famous seat like the club chair, we create a new vintage style, called "Aviator", we also take the Ball model for a design version, or the Egg chair. It fits perfectly into the interior of a house or office. They are lined with a faux leather fabric to make them affordable in vintage black or brown.
Our reproductions take the models of the 1950s, they are padded with polyurethane foam to ensure a very comfortable seat. The shapes are taken up, and the aluminum plates are riveted as in the past, they reproduce the parts of the cabins of the aeroplanes. The structure is made of wood and panel of medium density fibers. Each item was handcrafted to produce an impeccable finish to the product.
Our store offers a large collection of furniture and seating for the living room, with aviator sofas and armchairs.
