Baroque furniture

In the fine arts, the term Baroque describes a rather complex idiom, originating in Rome. It is an art that flourished in the 16th century. It developed in painting, sculpture, music, architecture, and furniture. This was particularly evident in the Catholic Church's desire to reassert itself in the wake of the Protestant Reformation. It was during this period that many religious buildings and royal palaces adopted this style, creating finely detailed frescoes and architectural models. These creations can be seen at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Granada, as well as at Ettal Abbey and Scönbrunn Palace in Vienna. The Rococo style was a fashion for ostentatious styles.
