Le aviator club chair is inspired by club armchairs from the art deco period at the beginning of the 20th century. It is an enveloping seat that takes up the wide and deep design of the original model. The aviator model inspired by generous shapes, and brings an industrial and vintage style to this old armchair.
Formerly made with parts from the cabin of Spitfire military planes, this model takes up the codes of the armchair from the 1950s. The armrests are formed by riveted aluminum sides, with a brushed finish for a vintage effect. Its inflated shape is reminiscent of the club chair from the 20s.
The seat and back are decorated with curved bands padded with foam for greater comfort. The back is lined with foam on both sides, upholstered in continuity, so you can place it in the middle of a room and use it as the back of a pouf or stool.
The structure is made of rubber wood, with wood fiber panels covered with aluminum plates assembled by hand.
A comfortable armchair
This is what this seat was called at the beginning of the century, with shell-shaped armrests. Its backrest and soft shapes bring an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation to its guests.
The term “club” is related to the French and English gentlemen’s clubs that one could frequent in the colonies.
If the shape and design of the club chair followed fashion during the 20th century, aficionados only give the name club to chairs whose armrests keep the shape of shells. Straighter or more irregular armchairs then retain the name of comfortable armchair.
While the square models appear this time to take the name of art deco armchairs.
