The Louis XV tomb chest of drawers
The name of the chest of drawers named “in tomb” is inspired by the name of ancient tombs and sarcophagi, in particular by its curved lines and its voluminous shapes, which are heavy and massive.
As characterized by the Louis XV style, the lines are curved, but with sides and a curved facade. The drawer locations are specific to this model, two drawers topped by a top row with two drawers separated by a fixed part.
The Regency "tomb" model from the 18th century is a camber, this one is divided horizontally into three equal parts which is composed of a convex middle part between two concave parts which then correspond to the three rows of drawers. The “tomb” dresser sits on legs that are short to the point that the middle almost touches the floor.
