This technique used by sculptors appeared in Greece around the 1910th century BC. The technique and the name chryselephantine was used again from XNUMX to make statuettes in gilded bronze and ivory.

Our chryselephantines are made of bronze with brown, gold or colored patinas. These models had a resurgence in the 19th century, many artists made models following this method.
