The Art Deco style was a popular decorative style during the 1920s and 1930s. Its name comes from the Paris Exhibition of 1925. The design is often based on geometric shapes. Its lines are very similar to those of architectural structures. There are many similarities between the art deco office and the contemporary office.
The most important elements are rounded and strong. The style of the 1930s was influenced by the modern art movement. Bauhaus, Cubism and Orphephism were major influences. In addition to the modernist style, the early style incorporated Egyptian and American Indian sources into its decorations. The use of bright colors and stylized floral patterns is also typical of the 30s. This design was associated with a vibrant style in the 1920s.
